In any part of Greece you’re never far from a taverna, so you’ll never go hungry or thirsty! Whether it’s a few tables and a fridge underneath the shade of a some trained vines, in the middle of a mountain village, serving meze and suma to the locals, or a seaside fish restaurant offering the catch of the day, you will always get a warm welcome.
Greek food is such a delight ranging from barbecued souvlaki, to rich stews, fresh sea food, delicious dips and fabulous salads washed down with the local wine or an ice cold Mythos. We have so many favourite places that it’s virtually impossible to name them all here, but here’s a bit of a list. Apologies to those we have not been able to include.
